# Schedule and reminders

> Delay sending and automate follow-ups for recipients who haven't read

## Schedule sending

By default, documents are sent immediately. To delay:

1. Click the schedule option at the bottom left of the share view.
2. Enter a date and time in natural language — for example *"in 3 hours"* or
   *"next Monday at 9am"*.
3. Or select a quick suggestion from the interface.

The email will go out automatically at the chosen time, with no further action
required.

## Cancel or edit a scheduled email

Before a scheduled email goes out, you can still adjust it from the
**Sending activity** section of the
[Read tracking](/features/sharing/read-tracking) view:

* Open the scheduled email to change its recipients, message, send time,
  reminders, or automatic lock.
* Choose **Cancel scheduled email** to cancel it entirely. This also stops any
  associated reminders and automatic locking, and deletes the email's
  follow-up data.

## Automatic reminders

there.do tracks when each recipient opens the document. You can configure
reminders that go out automatically to those who haven't read it yet.

To enable reminders:

1. In the share view, open the **Automatic reminders** section.
2. Set the **number of reminders** to send.
3. Set the **interval** between each reminder (in days).

Reminders stop as soon as the recipient opens the document.

<Tip>
  To follow up with a specific recipient manually, use the
  [Read tracking](/features/sharing/read-tracking) view.
</Tip>
