# Comments

> Comment on a shared document, reply in threads, and mark as resolved

Comments let recipients exchange directly on the document content, without
back-and-forth emails.

## Who can comment

* Organisation members can comment as long as the document is not locked.
* Anonymous readers (access via public link) can read the document but
  **cannot comment**.

  Automatic locking disables comments when the configured delay expires.

## Comment on a section

Organisation members can highlight any part of the document and leave a comment
anchored directly to that passage.

## Threads

Each comment opens a discussion thread:

* Participants can reply directly in the thread.
* Once a topic is addressed, the thread can be marked as **resolved**.

## Notifications

Each new comment or reply in a thread triggers an email notification to all
participants in that thread.
