# Routines

> Save an AI⋅there instruction and rerun it on your documents in one click

A routine is a saved AI⋅there instruction. Run it on a document instead of
retyping it each time. AI⋅there applies its changes in the document and you
review each one.

Running a routine requires AI⋅there. Creating your own routines is available on
the Business plan.

<Info>
  This feature is available starting from the [**Business** plan](/billing/plans/index).
</Info>

## Open the library

Click **Routines** in the side menu. The **Documents** section lists the
routines that run on an open document:

* **Proofreading**: fixes spelling and grammar.
* Your personal routines, visible and runnable only by you.

## Run a routine

1. In the library, click the routine.
2. Pick a document from your recent documents, or search for one.
3. The document opens and the routine starts in the AI⋅there chat.

You must be able to edit the document: a routine does not run on a read-only
document.

Your personal routines also appear as quick actions in the AI⋅there chat, on
each of your documents.

## Create a routine

1. In the library, click **New routine**.
2. Enter a **Name** and an **Instruction**: describe what AI⋅there should do on
   the open document.
3. Add a **Reference** if needed: a template or document AI⋅there reads on every
   run, for example to check that the document complies with that model.
4. Click **Save routine**.

## Edit or delete a routine

Hover a personal routine and open its actions menu:

* **Edit**: changes apply the next time you run the routine.
* **Delete**: the routine is removed from the library and from document quick
  actions.
